what is amapola?

Socially conscious streetwear - Through modern and elevated designs, we bring a bold and playful vibe to fashion, curating designs that are unique and celebrate our roots. We create pieces that help people feel connected and transported to nuestra islita caribeña.

Amapola is an organization coming together for the advancement of people, creating and generating prosperity for disadvantaged communities. With every purchase, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to initiatives that empower Puerto Ricans and support the island's restoration and development.

We love our island with every fiber of our being, heart, and soul. It is so exciting to share our work with people who understand and share the pride that blossoms and grows when we think of Puerto Rico. There is no better feeling.

Hello, we’re the founders of Amapola PR. Thank you for stopping by. 

We met many years ago on our first day of college. Although we can’t recall exactly how we met, we know that the reason we formed such a close bond was because of our backgrounds. After learning we were both Puerto Rican, we experienced that instant connection that comes with knowing that this person can understand and share similar experiences as you. 

As time passes, we have seen so many different hardships and injustices fall upon our people. From hurricanes & earthquakes, to political and social unrest, and even resource exploitation, our island has been through a lot. It’s impossible to not feel powerless and heartbroken when you are watching these events unfold. 

This brand was started to spread awareness on these issues and to support the advancement of our people. Our designs reflect the experiences we and so many others have gone through, and every piece has been thoughtfully crafted with care and quality. 

We created Amapola with love and dedication. We created Amapola for those that grew up on the island, for those that grew up elsewhere, for those that had to leave in search of a better life, for those that have stayed and persevered. Amapola is for those that dream and wish for a better future for themselves and Puerto Rico. Amapola is for those that know the value Puerto Rico has and is, and what it could become. 

We are so proud to share our culture and heritage with the world, breaking through stereotypes and misconceptions. Our designs are unique, modern, and elevated; different from other Puerto Rican apparel on the market.
